Your shoulders are part of everything you do.
It's worth understanding them properly.

If you're someone who trains, competes, climbs, lifts, or just moves because it keeps you sane, your shoulders are involved in almost all of it.

Most of us don't think much about them until something stops working. And when it does, the information we get is often not great. Vague, scary, or just unhelpful.

This workshop is about changing that. Before something goes wrong, or when you're trying to figure out why it has.

Sound familiar?

"I've just been training through it and hoping it settles."

"Nobody has actually explained to me what's going on in there."

If either of those sounds like you, this is worth two hours of your Saturday. It's for people who want a real explanation, not a generic handout, and who are willing to actually try things and see what happens in their own body.

Introducing The Shoulder Landscape

A hands-on workshop where we get into how shoulders actually work. Not in a textbook way, but in a way that makes sense of what you feel in your own body when you train, compete, or move.

This isn't a treatment session and it isn't individual assessment. What it is, is two hours of the stuff I wish I could tell every person before they end up in my clinic, and the chance to actually feel the difference it makes.

Already dealing with a shoulder issue? You're welcome to come. Just know this is a group education and movement workshop, not individual treatment.

How the workshop works

We start with a self-assessment so you know where your shoulders are at on the day. We work through everything together, trying it all in our own bodies as we go. Then we reassess at the end so you can feel what's actually changed. Places are capped at 20.

We start here

A self-assessment. Check in with how your shoulders are moving and feeling right now, on this day

We end here

A reassessment. Revisit the same movements and feel what's shifted over the two hours

In between, we move through everything below together and try it all in our own bodies.

  • 1
    The full shoulder picture

How your shoulders actually work and what influences how they feel, including things that might genuinely surprise you

  • 2
    The bigger picture

Why your breathing, your neck, and even your liver matter for how your shoulder moves. This is the part most people haven't heard before

  • 3
    Practical tools to take home

Simple exercises you'll have already tried and felt working in your own body

  • 4
    Real-time exploration

Everything we talk about, we test on ourselves. You won't just be sitting and listening. You'll be moving and noticing

Stephanie Lock

Hi, I'm Steph

Physio, Strength and Conditioning coach, clinical pilates instructor and founder of Adventure Physio, Jandakot.

I work with people who care about their bodies and the lives they want to live in them. That might mean recovering from injury, managing pain, or rebuilding confidence after surgery. I like to help you figure out what's been holding you back in the first place, and what to do about it.

I don't just treat the part that hurts. I look at the whole picture from inside to outside your body, sometimes including what's happening in your head.

Outside the clinic, you'll find me where my four essentials for happiness are: nature, delicious food, good people, and moving my body outside. Bonus points if my partner and my Great Dane, Annie, are there too.

This workshop is a chance to spend two hours the way I love to work: curious, practical, and looking at the whole picture.

Is this right for you?

This is for you if...

  • Movement is a non-negotiable part of your life. Whether that's climbing, CrossFit, aerial, martial arts, throwing sports, trail running, or anything else that asks a lot of your shoulders
  • You've been training through something and you'd like to actually understand what's going on
  • You've been given information about your shoulder that felt vague, scary, or just not quite right
  • You want to understand the why, not just be handed something to do
  • You're a physio, trainer, yoga or pilates teacher who wants a deeper look at how shoulders actually work
  • You're the kind of person who will do the work if someone explains it properly
  • You want to leave with tools you've already tried, not a piece of paper you'll lose

Questions

FAQs

I have a shoulder injury. Can I still come?

Yes. You'll likely find it really useful. Just know that this isn't individual treatment. There's no assessment or hands-on work for your specific issue on the day. If you're managing something, keep working with your treating practitioner alongside this. The two things will complement each other well.

Is this suitable for all levels?

Yes. Whether you're recreational or competitive, the content is relevant. If you work with other people's bodies as a trainer, teacher, or practitioner, there's a lot here that will apply to your clients too.

What should I wear?

Something you can move in. Think training gear or what you'd wear to a pilates class. You'll want to be able to reach, rotate, and breathe freely.

Will I get things to take home?

Yes. You'll leave with exercises you've already tried in your own body during the workshop. Not a generic handout. Things that already mean something to you because you've felt them work.

Is this a one-off or part of a series?

This one is standalone. You'll get everything you need in the two hours. If it goes well, there'll be more to come.

I still have questions. How do I get in touch?

Reach out to Steph directly at hello@adventurephysio.com.au and she'll help you figure out if this is the right fit.
