Your shoulders do a lot for you.
Here's your chance to get to know them better.

You train, you move, you push your body. And your shoulders are along for all of it, lifting, pressing, hanging, rotating, catching, throwing, holding.

We might not think about them until something stops working.

This workshop is about getting curious before it gets to that point... or finding our way back once things stop feeling good.

Sound familiar?

"My shoulders are always a bit tight. I just train through it."

"I want to understand what's actually going on, not just be told to stretch more."

If you've ever thought either of those things, this workshop was made for you. It's for people who want to understand what's going on, rather than just being handed a generic program and sent home.

Introducing The Shoulder Landscape

A practical, hands-on workshop where you'll get to know your shoulders: how they work, what they need, and what you can do to keep them feeling their best.

This isn't a treatment session. There's no individual diagnosis or clinical assessment. What there is, is two hours of physio knowledge, movement exploration, and all the things Steph wishes everybody knew about shoulders before they end up on her treatment table.

People managing a current shoulder issue are very welcome. Just know this is a group education and movement session, not individual treatment.

How the workshop works

This workshop is built around your own experience. You'll move through everything together, notice what changes, and leave with something you've already felt working in your own body. Places are capped at 20.

We start here

A self-assessment. Check in with how your shoulders are moving and feeling right now, on this day

We end here

A reassessment. Revisit the same movements and feel what's shifted over the two hours

In between, we move through everything below together and try it all in our own bodies.

  • 1
    The full shoulder picture

How your shoulders work, what influences how they feel, including things you might not have considered

  • 2
    The bigger picture

Why your breathing, your neck, and even your liver matter for how your shoulder moves. This might surprise you

  • 3
    Practical tools to take home

Simple exercises you'll have already tried and felt working in your own body

  • 4
    Real-time exploration

Everything we talk about, we test on ourselves. You won't just be sitting and listening. You'll be moving and noticing

Your host

Stephanie Lock

Hi, I'm Steph

Physio, Strength and Conditioning coach, clinical pilates instructor and founder of Adventure Physio, Jandakot.

I work with people who care about their bodies and the lives they want to live in them. That might mean recovering from injury, managing pain, or rebuilding confidence after surgery. I like to help you figure out what's been holding you back in the first place, and what to do about it.

I don't just treat the part that hurts. I look at the whole picture from inside to outside your body, sometimes including what's happening in your head.

Outside the clinic, you'll find me where my four essentials for happiness are: nature, delicious food, good people, and moving my body outside. Bonus points if my partner and my Great Dane, Annie, are there too.

This workshop is a chance to spend two hours the way I love to work: curious, practical, and looking at the whole picture.

Is this right for you?

This is for you if...

  • You use your shoulders for something you love, whether that's aerial silks, rock climbing, CrossFit, gymnastics, martial arts, throwing sports, or just training hard and wanting to stay that way
  • You're a healthcare provider, yoga or pilates teacher, or trainer who wants a deeper understanding of how shoulders actually work
  • Your shoulders feel fine-ish, but you know you could be doing more for them
  • You love knowing why something works, not just being told what to do
  • You want practical tools you'll actually use, not another generic stretch routine
  • You're in the "proactive about my health" camp and this feels like exactly that
  • You love seeing evidence. You'll start and finish with a self-assessment so you can feel what changed
  • You want to walk away feeling good and knowing something useful

Questions

FAQs

I have a shoulder injury. Can I still come?

Absolutely. You're welcome and will get a lot of value from the workshop. Just know that this is a group workshop with no individual assessment or treatment on the day. If you're managing something specific, keep working with your treating practitioner alongside this.

Is this suitable for all levels?

Yes. Whether you're a recreational mover or a competitive athlete, the content is relevant across the board. If you work with other people's bodies as a trainer, teacher or practitioner, you'll also find plenty here that applies to your clients.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you can move in. Think what you'd wear to a training session, yoga or pilates. You'll want to be able to reach, rotate and breathe freely.

Will I get things to take home?

Yes. You'll leave with exercises you've already tried and felt working on your own body during the workshop, not a generic handout but movements that are already meaningful to you.

Is this a one-off or part of a series?

This is a completely standalone workshop. You'll get everything you need in the two hours. If it goes well (and we think it will), there may be more to come.

I still have questions. How do I get in touch?

Reach out to Stephanie directly at [email protected] and she'll be happy to help you figure out if this is right for you.
