At Adventure Physio, we understand that injury and surgery rehabilitation is not one-size-fits-all. Every individual is unique, and so are their recovery needs.
Our approach to rehab is all about personalisation, focusing on what works best for you.
We stay up to date with the latest rehabilitation research and know what works best in a wide population of people with the same problem, but we target it to make sure it fits your life and situation (because we’re all beautiful unique snowflakes and none of us is exactly the same.)
The Starting Point
Rehabilitation is a journey, and every journey starts somewhere.
Because we don’t want to waste your time with exercises that aren’t exactly what you need, we start with baseline strength and mobility assessments.
As they say: “You can't improve what you don't measure.”
Homework for Your Recovery
After an initial or follow-up consultation, you will most likely be given rehab homework.
Because everyone has their own learning style, we make sure we get this homework to you in a way that makes sense to YOU.
We have various methods for you to choose from:
Video Demonstrations: Some people like to have their rehab exercises recorded on their own phones. The benefit of this is that not only can you rewatch at home, but you get to practice doing the exercises as we’re filing them.
Exercise Prescription Software: We have invested in two separate exercise prescription software programs, Simple Set and TrueCoach, that can be accessed on your phone or computer. You won't need to purchase these software packages separately; we provide them as part of our service. We often use the videos we’ve taken of you doing the exercises and upload them to this software for you… again, practice makes progress and the more practice the better.
Stick Figures on Notepaper: For those who prefer a more old school physio approach, we’re not above stick figures and written instructions on note paper if that’s what helps you learn best.
Rehab Exercise Library
After completing extensive training including courses in strength and conditioning, Pilates, the Movement Rev System and Running Physio as well as a lifetime of experience in various sports and exercise methods, Adventure Physio has a large collection of rehabilitation exercises.
Group Rehab Classes
Let's be honest. Some people really just struggle to do rehab at home. No judgement here! Sometimes home is a really terrible environment for setting time aside to do it.
Knowing this, we’ve created an environment to welcome you in for rehab instead. We operate out of Transpire Fitness and have access to the fully equipped gym to run multiple rehab classes a week
These classes provide you with the opportunity to exercise in a fully equipped gym with the guidance and supervision of an experienced physio. During these sessions, you will work on your personalised rehab program, making progress in a supportive and motivating environment.
