What are Injury Prevention and Rehab Classes?

Have you ever felt like doing physio rehab at home gets difficult?

Between feeling unmotivated

Not being able to remember the exercise or instructions given to you

Feeling like it’s too easy or too hard

Getting caught up in other tasks that need doing around the house

The kids, dogs and other dependents want your attention

Don’t have the right equipment

One the the best ways to overcome this is to isolate yourself in an environment for an hour which is made to help you succeed.

Cue the Adventure Physio Rehab and Prehab classes.

With a maximum of 4 people in a class and everyone working through their own individualised program, progress is fast tracked.

There are people at all stages of injury rehab recovery, ages and walks of life. They show up for an hour once or twice a week and get the work done with guidance from a physio along the way.

So what do these rehab programs look like?

A clipboard with a pen and paper, representing Adventure Physio's focus on tailored rehab and strength training for injuries.

An hour of targeted mobility, rehab and strength for each person’s issue.

Often we look outside of the injury itself and make sure the whole body is strong and resilient, helping to create a great environment for the injury to heal in.

Over 6-8 weeks, the movements/exercises stay largely the same but progress in weight, repetitions, technique- whatever is needed to improve your injury. This allows you to get really good at the movement pattern and stronger over time.

After 6-8 weeks, we create a new program based on where you’re at now.

Often people stay in the classes after their injuries have healed to continue to work on any weaker areas in the body and have guidance and accountability to exercise.

Who are rehab classes for?

We have men and women

People in their 20’s and in their 70’s

People rehabbing after surgery

After broken spines

With overuse cycling and running injuries

With arthritis

With nerve pain

Stephanie Lock discusses rehabilitation options with a man in a gym, highlighting Adventure Physio's supportive group classes.

Really, the groups are for someone who thrives with a little attention, some laughs in a group environment and who can dedicate 1-2 hours a week to getting their rehab done.

How do I Get started?

The first step is to book an initial assessment with a physio to know exactly where you’re at now and where you want to get to.

The physio will make a plan with you that may include some room based physio work but if the main goal is to join rehab classes we will start that as soon as possible

After your initial assessment, the physio will create a rehab program for you and you will meet in the gym for 1-2 individual sessions to run through it, making sure you feel comfortable going into a group gym environment.

Is this covered by Health Insurance?

Yes! Depending on your level of cover. Most people with physio insurance can claim these classes.

There is also a bulk pack available 10 classes for the price of 9
